Dog Training Tip: Check Your Mood
I believe that one of the most important aspects of dog training is preparing you for training. The very first step in preparing yourself for dog training is to check your mood. Our state of mind directly influences how our dogs respond to us, and can determine what your dog learns and how well.
So my advice here is simple: don’t work with your dog when you are irritable, upset, down, stressed, tired or in an otherwise bad mood. Not only will your training be far less successful, but you will by mistake be teaching your dog to avoid you and training in general.
Always do your best to keep your training upbeat, interesting, and positive.
